Honed and Dyed Concrete Floors - St. Paul German Immersion School

August 2014

Sterling just completed the Dyed and Honed Concrete portion at the St. Paul German Immersion School!  The project came up quick, and had to move fast.  So naturally, Sterling accomodated...  ;)   Sterling worked the evening shift on this project, so as to not cause any disruption to the rest of the projects construction.  And in hind site, it was kind of nice having the place mostly to ourselves.  The coolest part of this project was the Compass Star!  Sterling dyed and sealed this with painstaking precision.  The guys really showed off their astistic capabilities on this one!   Welsh Companies was the gerneral on this one, and were great to work with as usual!  Thanks Welsh!

We used a combination of HTC, Prosoco, and Ameripolish products and tooling to complete this project!  In the end it turned out great!  And look forward to helping the St. Paul German Immersion School keep their new floors looking great for years to come!   For all of your up to date Sterling Stone and Tile Inc. info, stop back and visit us at our Current Projects!

Hazel Park Prepatory Academy - Grind, Polish and Dye Concrete

July 2014

Sterling just completed the Dyed and Polished Concrete portion at the Hazel Park Prepatory Academy in, you guessed it, St. Paul Mn!  We were made aware that this project was going to be a challenging one (due to the existing nature of the concrete) before we even started.  But Sterling acceted that challenge and met the expectations set forth!  The previous flooring was the "old style" vct which contains asbestos.  So naturally that had to be mitigated before any real work could be done on the dyed and polished concrete.  One the vct was removed, the concrete had multiple cosmetic issues that were made aware to the customer (e.g. oil stains, patches in the concrete, surface defects, etc.).   At long last, Sterling was given the green light, because although it would've been nice to cover some of these defects up, this concrete slab had moisture mitigation problems, and any other floor covering besides polished concrete would trap the moisture, causing larger issues in the future.  So polish and dye it we did, and the results were better than anyone could've expected!  Schrieber Mullaney was the gerneral on this one, and were great to work with!  Thanks guys!

We used a combination of TerrcoSase,  HTCSTIProsoco, and Ameripolish products and tooling to complete this project!  In the end it turned out great!  And look forward to helping the Hazel Park Preparatory School keep their floors looking great for years to come!   For all of your up to date Sterling Stone and Tile Inc. info, stop back and visit us at our Current Projects!

Dyed and Polished Concrete at St. Peter Regional Treatment Center

April 2014

Sterling just completed the Dyed and Polished Concrete portion at the St. Peter Regional Treatment Center!  The project was in the making for the past 2 years, and as I type this, the construction management company Contegrity Group is doing the final punch out with another happy customer!

The treatment center was in need of an update and the dyed and polished concrete palyed a large part in doing just that!  With concrete that was poured about 50 years ago, and for the most part had been covered up ever since, a little bit of prayer and wishful thinking were in order at the beginning.  But shortly after we dug into the concrete, we figured out that our prayers were answered, the concrete was in great shape.  We used a combination of Terrco, Sase,  HTC, STI, Prosoco, and Ameripolish products to complete this project!  That, coupled with a lot of hard work, and a good eye brought us this successful completion!  On to the next one!   For all of your up to date Sterling Stone and Tile Inc. info, stop back and visit us at our Current Projects!

Dunn Brothers Coffee -  Downtown Minneapolis, Mn

March 2014

Hurray!  Sterling Stone was called upon to polish the concrete and set the Tile for Dunn Brothers at the 333 Towers in downtown Minneapolis!  This well caffeinated project could be sumed up in one word, fun!  Being right along the hustle and bustle of the downtown Minneapolis skyway system kept things interesting and exciting.  The concrete polishing portion of the project itself was, as we in the buisness like to say, a patchwork quilt.  Lots of "character" with this concrete floor!  Previous tennants of the space had done all sorts of damage to the exisiting concrete.  And we were able to identify and rectify all of the trouble spots with a combination of patch work and deep grinding.  In the end, the designers vision came to life, and the space looks very nice!  The tile we installed and the polished concrete both played a critical role in giving this Dunn Bros. the updated, contemporary feel the ownership was aiming for!  Sterling used a combination of Terrco, Sase, HTC, STI, Prosoco, and Ardex products to complete this project!

Pequot Lakes High School Project

July 2013

The Pequot Lakes High School Project is a HUGE tile project for us!  Our part of the project alone is stretched out over a years worth of time!  So far, so good!  Working together with Donlar Construction on this project has been as smooth going as we could ask for.  And we all are looking forward to finishing strong and turning the school back over to the Patriots before the 2013-2014 school year resumes!
